Executive Mayor
Cllr. Sipho Mdanyane Radebe, born in Evaton, Sebokeng, is the current Executive Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) since November 2021. He completed his primary and secondary education locally before earning a Teaching Diploma at Lere‑la‑Tshipi College in Qwaqwa, Free State. A committed community and youth activist, Radebe engaged early in leadership roles through COSAS and later as an ANC and SACP member, serving as political school facilitator in Emfuleni. He became Ward 21 councillor in a 2020 by‑election before being elected again in 2021, then rising to Mayor. Beyond his mayoral duties, he also holds positions in SALGA PEC, the SACP Vaal District (Treasurer), and the board of the Municipal Councillors’ Pension Fund.
